And if that doesn't work...  there's probably not going to be a second date so don't waste each other's time.
That's about all I can say on that.  And you better believe I follow my own advice.  I hate being hypocritical about anything, and if I realize I AM being hypocritical, I'll admit to it.
As far as safety tips go, well that's easy too.  Just be aware of your surroundings and trust your gut.  If it tells you something isn't right, get the heck outta Dodge. 
I haven't used a soapbox in awhile so I'm not really sure if this one counts, but just in case, let me dust this rickety thing off. 
I have a soapbox and I'm not afraid to use it!
